Born from the spirit and success of the River Bend Film Festival, the Ocean Coast Film Festival is our international sister festival—bringing the magic of indie film to the beautiful beach town of Lavra, Portugal.
Inspired by his years on the RBFF team, longtime staff member Fábio took the dream of launching a film festival in his hometown and made it a reality. With the Atlantic Ocean just steps away, Ocean Coast offers the same passionate, community-centered experience we’re known for—now with a fresh coastal twist.
Just like River Bend, the Ocean Coast Film Festival:
- Celebrates independent film across all genres
- Provides a platform for emerging and established filmmakers
- Creates meaningful networking opportunities in a welcoming environment
- Aims to inspire new productions and creative collaborations—this time in Portugal
Using the proven RBFF formula of curated screenings, filmmaker Q&As, industry panels, and local partnerships, Ocean Coast is poised to become a new creative hub for filmmakers from Europe and beyond.
